Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS), formerly PCOS, is a diagnosable hormonal condition. Infertility is a medical diagnosis. Yet for too many families, the care that follows is treated as optional by their insurance plan.

Coverage can differ by state, employer, insurance plan, eligibility criteria, and benefit limits. This is about the full continuum of fertility care: diagnosis, medication, monitoring, procedures, fertility preservation, and IVF when needed. The HOPE with Fertility Services Act would require group health plans that cover obstetrical services to cover infertility diagnosis, treatment, and standard fertility-preservation services.

If you believe no family should be denied medically appropriate fertility treatment because of cost, tell your elected officials to support policies that expand access to comprehensive fertility care.
